Data products available on Urban Thematic Exploitation Platform
Description
The Urban Thematic Exploitation Platform (TAP) enables users to explore and handle many different data types. In this Knowledge Resource are presented the datasets available in the TAP.
Accessing the data
To access, explore and download the datasets available in the TAP platform, you can use the following link: https://urban-tep.eu/#!pages/dataservices
Data Products available
Note: If you are looking for a dataset not listed below, please refer to the Data & Services page on the TAP portal.
World Settlement Footprint (WSF)
WSF2015 (global, available)
Global human settlement mask in so far unique spatial detail and consistency, derive from Landsat-8 and Sentinel-1 data (10m spatial resolution).
Global Urban Footprint
GUF2012-12m (global, available)
Global human settlements mask, derived from TerraSAR-X and TanDEM-X radar data (supported by Airbus DS).
GUF2012-84m (global, available)
Generalized version of GUF2012-12m.
GUF-DenS2012-30m (global; beta version available)
Experimental global layer from Landsat imagery showing the imperviousness (or as an inverse the greenness) of all regions indicated as built-up area by the GUF2012-12m.
Global Human Settlement Layer (GHSL)
GHSL 1975, 1990. 2000 and 2014 (global, available)
Global built-up settlement mask with 30m spatial resolution.
GHS-POP 1975, 1990. 2000 and 2015 (global, available)
Population estimates with 250m spatial resolution.
GHS-SMOD 1975, 1990. 2000 and 2014 (global, available)
Global settlement typology with 1km spatial resolution.
TimeScan
TimeScan Landsat 2015 – 2010 - 2000 (global, available)
Global higher-processing level baseline product derived from Landsat imagery providing cloud-free representation of spectral and temporal characteristics of the land surface for the years 2015, 2010 and 2000.
TimeScan Sentinel-1 2015 (regional, available)
Higher-processing level baseline product derived from Sentinel-1 radar imagery characterising temporal characteristics of the land surface.
TimeScan Sentinel-2 2015 (regional, available)
Higher-processing level baseline product derived from Sentinel-2 imagery providing cloud-free representation of spectral and temporal characteristics of the land surface.
Innovative Data Sets and Techniques
High Altitude Pseudo Satellites (local demo, available)
High Altitude Pseudo Satellites (HAPS) flying at stratospheric level for several weeks can provide promising opportunities for high-frequency monitoring and analyses with hourly, daily, weekly repetition cycles. U-TEP presents simulated HAPS data for exemplary use cases such as rapid mapping, 3D mapping, and traffic as well as pedestrian monitoring.
Location-based Services - Geotagged Tweets (global, available)
Global demonstration dataset showing the number of geotagged Tweets published within a 10-month time period in 2016. The data was collected via a REST API that provides programmatic access to read and write Twitter data.
Ground Surface Movement (local demo, available)
Automatic geo-information service provided by Planetek Italia delivering data for the monitoring of ground surface movements (supported by Planetek Italia).
Land Use and Land Cover Development
LULC-Dev 2015 – 2010 - 2000 (regional, available)
This product represents seamless extent of land use / land cover classes as extracted from source satellite imagery for Asian urban zones as of 2010. The full data set contains 2 Land Use / Land Cover (LULC) status layers, each for reference year stipulated in the file name, and LULC Changes layer showing LULC changes and flows as identified between reference years. These represent up-to-date (2010) and retrospective state of the Land Use / Land Cover in given cities:
