CropWatch Monitoring System

Description

Since 1998, CropWatch has served as China's leading crop monitoring system. The CropWatch research team, part of the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth, Chinese Academy of Sciences, assesses national and global crop production and related information using remote sensing and ground-based indicators.

CropWatch is one of the participants in the GEO/GEOSS Global Agricultural Monitoring (GeoGLAM) initiative set up by the G20 to improve access to global information about the worldwide availability of major cereals and soybean.

CropWatch Cloud is the web-based platform and it has four sub systems.

CropWatch Pro. Under development at the moment.

CropWatch Explorer. This tool allows you to analyze agro-climatic, agronomic indicators, early warning indicators and production index for different crop types.

CropWatch Analysis. This system allows to get an access to all reports (submitted, in progress, published) and generate your own report as well.

CropWatch Bulletin. Each quarter, the group's findings are published in the CropWatch bulletin, which is issued in both English and Chinese.  The bulletin provides the latest CropWatch forecast of crop production and condition worldwide and national level.

CropWatch is available in 8 languages: English, Chinese, Portuguese, Khmer, Lao, Thai, Vietnamese and Arabic.
