Description
VIIRS/NPP Gap-Filled Lunar BRDF-Adjusted Nighttime Lights Daily L3 Global 15 arc second Linear Lat Lon Grid, also referred to as VNP46A2, is a NASA data product generated from data collected by the Visible Infrared Imaging Radiometer Suite (VIIRS) Day-Night Band (DNB) sensor. The VNP46A2 data product includes seven Science Data Sets (SDS), including DNB BRDF-Corrected NTL, Gap-Filled DNB BRDF-Corrected NTL, DNB Lunar Irradiance, Latest High-Quality Retrieval, Mandatory Quality Flag, Cloud Mask Quality Flag, and Snow Flag. Data is available from 2012 to the present and is packaged in the standard Hierarchical Data Format-Earth Observing System (HDF-EOS5) format. Validation of the data set was conducted through the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) Human Planet Initiatives's Nighttime Product Validation (NPV) task. The VNP46A2 data product is a part of NASA's Black Marble product suite, which supports the use of nightlight data for scientific use.
