Description

The Degree of Urbanisation – Territorial units classifier (GHS-DU-TUC) is a tool to classify local units from a settlement classification grid, according to the Degree of Urbanisation (DEGURBA).

It operationalises the method recommended by the 51st Session of the United Nations Statistical Commission to delineate cities, urban and rural areas (stage 2, units classification) as defined by the Degree of Urbanisation Level 1 and 2.
