CARTOVEGE 2 Input Data

Description

The CARTOVEGE² project utilizes a diverse range of satellite, drone, climatic, and ecological datasets to enhance habitat mapping and biodiversity monitoring.

Satellite Data (High-Resolution Remote Sensing)

Optical Imaging (Multispectral)

  • Pléiades, Pléiades NEO, Spot 6/7 (Mono/Tri-Stereo) – High spatial resolution for detailed habitat classification.
  • Sentinel-2 (MSI) – Medium-resolution vegetation monitoring.

Radar Imaging

  • Sentinel-1 – Terrain analysis, detecting habitat structure changes.
  • SRTM (Shuttle Radar Topography Mission) – Elevation and topographic data.

Drone Data (Local Vegetation Mapping & Validation)

  • DJI AIR 2S – RGB aerial imagery for habitat classification refinement.

Climatic & Environmental Data

  • Microclimatic Time Series
    • SoilTemp – In-situ soil temperature data.

  • TAF National Nature Reserve & French Polar Institute Database
    • Georeferenced floristic surveys (species distributions, environmental conditions).
  • Habitat guides for Crozet and Kerguelen (2023) & bibliographic summaries for Amsterdam Island.
  • Amsterdam field campaigns (floristic data for refining habitat classification).
